DJ McElroy has been in the financial industry since 2012 when he joined the Raymond James Asset Management department. As a portfolio consultant for Financial Advisors in the Midwest, he specialized in working with advisors and their high-net-worth clients, Foundations, and Endowments on many aspects of asset management including making recommendations on portfolio management, asset allocation, and investment analysis. In addition to supporting more than 500 advisors in the field, he also met with institutional money managers, often on a weekly basis, to discuss the opportunities and headwinds of investing in the market.
Building a foundation of industry knowledge, he has pursued several designations which include becoming a Certified Financial Planner™(CFP), an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA). DJ also graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Resource Economics from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of South Florida.
Outside of work, DJ enjoys a variety of interests whether hiking, biking, fishing, brewing coffee and beer, and spending time with his wife, Stefani, and daughters, Reagan, and Riley. He is also active in the community volunteering through a variety of organizations including the National MS Society, Tampa Bay Watch, or Keeping Pinellas Beautiful. He currently leads the Corporate Recruitment Committee for the Bike MS Citrus Tour held each year in central Florida to help raise funds for the National MS Society. When he isn’t busy with the above, he is typically entertaining his two Australian Shepherds.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP(R), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
