Shawna Nelsen serves as Office Manager and Registered Branch Professional for Frey Masterson Investment Advisors and brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in wealth management, advisor support, and relationship management. Known for her organization, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, Shawna plays a key role in helping ensure the firm’s day-to-day operations run smoothly while creating a seamless and welcoming experience for clients.
Prior to joining Frey Masterson Investment Advisors, Shawna served as Director of Wealth Service Operations for Achieva Wealth Advisors, where she supported advisors and clients through operational leadership, process improvement, and regulatory oversight. Her background includes extensive experience helping financial professionals deliver personalized solutions while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and service excellence.
A proud resident of Dunedin, Shawna is passionate about preserving and promoting Scottish culture and traditions. As the mother of a professional Highland dancer with the Isle of Skye Highland Dancers, much of her volunteer work is centered around the Scottish arts community. She actively supports many of Dunedin’s signature events, including the Dunedin Celtic Music Festival and the Dunedin Highland Games, one of the premier Highland Games festivals in the United States.
Shawna is also dedicated to supporting local students and educational programs. She serves as Co-Chair for the Dance and Color Guard teams at Dunedin High School and as Secretary of the Dunedin High School PTSA. Whether helping coordinate school activities, supporting student programs, or volunteering at local events, she believes strongly in giving back to the communities that have given so much to her family. While Dunedin is home, Shawna is excited to be part of a team serving clients throughout St. Petersburg and the greater Tampa Bay area.
Outside of the office, Shawna’s life revolves around her family, and she would not have it any other way. She and her husband, who works for the City of Dunedin, recently celebrated 21 years of marriage. Much of their free time is spent supporting their daughter’s professional Highland dancing career, volunteering throughout the community, and making the most of opportunities to travel and explore new places together. Shawna also enjoys watching movies, taking long walks on the beach, and ending the day with a Gulf Coast sunset.
